Waterloo Center for the Arts

The Waterloo Center for the Arts’ purpose is to initiate and further awareness, appreciation, and support of the arts by a diverse audience. The Center works in partnership with the community to provide cultural experiences for all ages. The Art Center provides educational workshops, classes, and programs that complement the Center’s changing exhibitions and permanent collection, which houses the worlds’ largest public collection of Haitian Art. The Center is home to the Phelps Youth Pavilion – a children’s museum with over 40 interactive exhibits, the Waterloo Community Playhouse/Black Hawk Children’s Theatre, a Gift Store, indoor and outdoor spaces for meetings and events, and the RiverLoop Amphitheatre, Expo Plaza, Arts Mall, and Mark’s Park.
